Laparoscopic surgery, also called minimally invasive surgery (MIS), bandaid surgery, or keyhole surgery, is a modern surgical technique.
The process takes its name from the laparoscope, a slender tool that has a tiny video camera
and light on the end. When a surgeon inserts it through a small cut and into your body, they
can look at a video monitor and operate.Advantages are less pain, short stay and early
recovery.
Laparoscopic surgery includes operations within the abdominal or pelvic cavities, whereas
keyhole surgery performed on the thoracic or chest cavity is called thoracoscopic
surgery. The latest advance in minimal access surgery is Robotic surgery
